- 1/2 cup nut butter (like almond or peanut) Experiment with different nut butters for flavor.
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup Adjust the sweetener to your taste.
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon Can be substituted with nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice.
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts or seeds (optional) Adds additional texture.
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional) Optional for a sweeter treat.
Method
Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, chopped dried apples, nut butter, honey or maple syrup, and cinnamon.
- Stir until the mixture is well combined.
- If you’d like, add the optional chopped nuts or seeds and chocolate chips.
- Refrigerate the mixture for about 30 minutes to firm up.
- Once firm, scoop tablespoon-sized amounts and roll them into balls.

Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them on a baking sheet then transfer to a freezer-safe bag which can last for up to three months.
