Ingredients
For the Steak
- 2 pieces ribeye steaks Use high-quality ribeye for the best flavor.
- Salt and pepper Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs for garnish Fresh herbs for garnish (optional) Can use parsley, thyme, or rosemary.
For the Balsamic Glaze
- 1 cup balsamic vinegar Use high-quality balsamic vinegar for richer flavor.
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil Extra virgin is preferred.
Method
Preparation
- In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onion and cook until softened.
- Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Pour in balsamic vinegar and bring to a simmer, cooking until reduced and thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
Cooking the Steak
- Season the steaks with salt and pepper.
- Cook on a grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
- Remove steak from heat and let rest for a few minutes.
Serving
- Serve the steaks topped with the balsamic-onion glaze and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes
