Ingredients

For the Steak

  • 2 pieces ribeye steaks Use high-quality ribeye for the best flavor.
  • Salt and pepper Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish Fresh herbs for garnish (optional) Can use parsley, thyme, or rosemary.

For the Balsamic Glaze

  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar Use high-quality balsamic vinegar for richer flavor.
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Extra virgin is preferred.

Method

Preparation

  • In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onion and cook until softened.
  • Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  • Pour in balsamic vinegar and bring to a simmer, cooking until reduced and thickened. Season with salt and pepper.

Cooking the Steak

  • Season the steaks with salt and pepper.
  • Cook on a grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
  • Remove steak from heat and let rest for a few minutes.

Serving

  • Serve the steaks topped with the balsamic-onion glaze and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
