Ingredients
Cookie Base
- 1 cup butter, softened Make sure your butter is softened for easier mixing.
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Icing
- to taste orange icing For creating basketball patterns.
- to taste black icing For the black lines on the basketball.
Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and mix well.
- In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until fully combined.
- Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
- Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack.
Decorating
- Once cool, use orange icing to create a basketball pattern and black icing for the black lines.

Notes
