Ingredients

Cookie Base

  • 1 cup butter, softened Make sure your butter is softened for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Icing

  • to taste orange icing For creating basketball patterns.
  • to taste black icing For the black lines on the basketball.

Method

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and mix well.
  • In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until fully combined.
  • Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack.

Decorating

  • Once cool, use orange icing to create a basketball pattern and black icing for the black lines.

Notes
