  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting, optional) Optional topping for serving

Method

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and butter until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  • Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are soft.
  • Let cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  • Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.
