- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure butter is at room temperature
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting, optional) Optional topping for serving
Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and butter until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
Baking
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are soft.
- Let cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.

Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week, or freeze for up to three months. For chewy cookies, underbake slightly.
