Ingredients
For the fritter mixture
- 2 cups grated cabbage Use well-drained cabbage to prevent sogginess.
- 1 cup flour Can be substituted with gluten-free flour for a gluten-free option.
- 2 pieces eggs Large eggs work best.
- 1 small onion, finely chopped Sauté for extra flavor if desired.
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional) Add for additional flavor.
- 2 tablespoons oil for frying Choose an oil with a high smoke point.
Method
Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine the grated cabbage, chopped onion, flour, eggs, salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using).
- Mix everything together until well combined. The mixture should hold together but not be too wet.
Cooking
- Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Take a spoonful of the cabbage mixture and carefully place it in the hot oil. Flatten it slightly with the back of the spoon.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fritters and place them on a paper towel to drain the excess oil.
- Repeat with the remaining mixture until all fritters are cooked.

Notes
