  • 500 g bread flour
  • 350 g water
  • 100 g sourdough starter
  • 10 g salt

Method

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour and water until well combined. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • Add the sourdough starter and salt, and mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 4-6 hours, or until doubled in size.

Baking

  • Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a bread pan.
  • Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) with a Dutch oven inside.
  • Score the top of the loaf with a bread lame for design.
  • Place the loaf in the Dutch oven and bake for 30 minutes with the lid on, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let it cool before slicing.
