- 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef to reduce grease.
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can substitute with Monterey Jack or pepper jack.
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 cups frozen French fries Fresh fries can be used, but adjust cooking time.
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste

Method
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in beef broth and bring to a simmer. Season with salt and pepper.
Layering and Baking
- In a greased casserole dish, layer the meat mixture, topping it with sour cream and half of the shredded cheese.
- Add a layer of frozen French fries on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until fries are cooked and golden.
- Remove from oven and top with the remaining cheese. Return to oven for an additional 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted.
Serving
- This casserole is best served hot right out of the oven. Allow everyone to scoop their own portions.

Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. To reheat, use a microwave or return to the oven. Can be frozen for up to three months. Consider adding diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce for extra flavor.
