Ingredients

For the pie bites

  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 large egg, beaten for egg wash
  • Granulated sugar for sprinkling
  • a pinch cinnamon optional

Method

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the pie crusts on a lightly floured surface.
  • Using a round cutter (a glass works well), cut out circles from the pie crust.
  • Place a teaspoon of cherry pie filling in the center of each circle.
  • Fold the circle over the filling to create a half-moon shape.
  • Press the edges down with a fork to seal.
  • Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  • Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let them cool slightly before serving.
