Ingredients
For the crust
- 7 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs (about 9 whole crackers)
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
For the filling
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened Ensure cream cheese is fully softened for easier mixing.
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 container Cool Whip, 8 ounces
For the topping
- 1 can cherry pie filling, 21 ounces
Method
Preparation
- In a bowl, melt the unsalted butter.
- Add the graham cracker crumbs and granulated sugar to the melted butter. Mix well until the crumbs are evenly coated.
- Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish to form the crust.
Make the Filling
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Gently fold in the Cool Whip until the mixture is fluffy.
Assemble the Dessert
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crust.
- Top it with the cherry pie filling, spreading it out evenly.
Chill
- Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results, before serving.
