For the topping

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats Provides crunch.
  • 1/2 cup almond flour Can be swapped for regular flour.
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts Walnuts or pecans work well.
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey Acts as a sweetener.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil or butter Melted for mixing.

Method

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice and cinnamon. Spread the apples in an even layer in a greased baking dish.
  • In another bowl, mix the rolled oats, almond flour, chopped nuts, maple syrup, salt, and melted coconut oil or butter until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples evenly.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
