  • 2-3 pounds beef chuck roast Choose a well-marbled cut for tenderness.
  • 1 packet au jus seasoning mix
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 6 pieces French rolls Use quality rolls for the best taste.
  • to taste Provolone cheese (optional) Can substitute with Swiss or mozzarella.
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method

Preparation

  • Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle the au jus seasoning mix over the beef.
  • Add the sliced onion and pour the beef broth on top.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until the meat is tender.
  • Remove the beef, shred it with forks, and return it to the liquid.

Serving

  • Serve on French rolls and top with Provolone cheese if desired.
  • Don't forget to serve with the au jus for dipping.

Notes
