Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
Vegetables & Seasonings
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Pasta & Cheese
- 1 package (16 oz) penne pasta, cooked
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables soften.
- Stir in the marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Combine the cooked penne pasta with the meat sauce in a large mixing bowl.
- Transfer half of the pasta mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the pasta.
- Add the remaining pasta mixture and top it with the rest of the cheeses.
- Finally, sprinkle the Parmesan cheese on top.

- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes
This casserole can be customized by adding olives or pepperoni for extra flavor. You can also replace the ground beef with turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
