Dry Ingredients
- 500 g bread flour
- 100 g cocoa powder
- 80 g sugar
- 10 g sea salt
Wet Ingredients
- 300 g sourdough starter Ensure it is active and bubbly.
- 350 ml warm water
Additions
- 150 g chocolate chips Adjust according to taste.
Method
Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix the bread flour, cocoa powder, and sugar together.
- In a separate bowl, combine the sourdough starter and warm water, then add this mixture to the dry ingredients.
- Mix everything until a dough forms. Add the sea salt and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Raising and Baking
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for 4-6 hours or until it has doubled in size.
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Allow it to rise again for 1-2 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (430°F).
- Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes or until it sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Let it cool before slicing.

Notes
