  • 1 medium head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Method

Preparation

  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until brown.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is soft.
  • Stir in the cabbage and cook until it starts to soften.
  • Add rice, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and thyme. Bring to a boil, then let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Pour the mixture into a baking dish and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  • Place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes
