Ingredients
Fruit
- 2 cans sliced peaches in syrup (15 oz each)
Batter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided 1/2 cup for batter, 1/2 cup for topping
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- to taste ground cinnamon or nutmeg For sprinkling on top
Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Open the cans of sliced peaches and drain them, keeping the syrup from one can. Set peaches aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Pour in the milk and stir until the batter is smooth with no lumps.
- Pour the melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring.
- Spoon the drained peaches evenly over the batter.
- Mix the reserved syrup with the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, and drizzle it over the top of the peaches.
- If desired, sprinkle ground cinnamon or nutmeg on top.
Baking
- Place the cobbler in your preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Allow the cobbler to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes
