Ingredients

  • 2 medium medium pork chops Bone-in for more flavor and tenderness recommended.
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 60 g melted butter
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 15 ml extra virgin olive oil

Method

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 220°C / 428°F.
  • Season pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Melt the butter in a small bowl. Stir in the minced garlic, chopped thyme, and a little lemon juice if you like.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet and add olive oil. Sear the pork chops for 2 minutes on each side until they are golden brown.
  • Pour the melted butter mixture into the skillet and baste the pork with it.
  • Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 10 to 14 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  • Once done, let the chops rest for 5 minutes. Spoon the buttery sauce over them and enjoy!

Notes
