  • 2 lbs chicken breast
  • 1 cup salsa verde

Spices

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Garnish

Method

Preparation

  • Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  • Pour the salsa verde over the chicken.
  • Add the smoked paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  • Stir to combine.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
  • Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks.
  • Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and mix it with the salsa verde.

Serving

  • Serve garnished with fresh cilantro if desired.

Notes
