  • 1 cup rice Rinse before cooking for fluffier results
  • 2 cups broth or water Broth adds more flavor
  • 1 pound Kielbasa, sliced Can substitute with Andouille sausage for a spicier kick
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped Feel free to add other vegetables like peas or corn
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust seasoning to your taste
  • for cooking Olive oil

Method

Preparation

  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and green pepper and sauté until softened.
  • Stir in the sliced Kielbasa and cook until browned.
  • Add the rice and stir to coat in the oil and mix with the other ingredients.
  • Pour in the broth or water and add the diced tomatoes.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes or until the rice is tender and has absorbed the liquid.
  • Fluff with a fork and serve hot.
