- 1 cup rice Rinse before cooking for fluffier results
- 2 cups broth or water Broth adds more flavor
- 1 pound Kielbasa, sliced Can substitute with Andouille sausage for a spicier kick
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper chopped Feel free to add other vegetables like peas or corn
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- to taste Salt and pepper Adjust seasoning to your taste
- for cooking Olive oil
Method
Preparation
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and green pepper and sauté until softened.
- Stir in the sliced Kielbasa and cook until browned.
- Add the rice and stir to coat in the oil and mix with the other ingredients.
- Pour in the broth or water and add the diced tomatoes.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes or until the rice is tender and has absorbed the liquid.
- Fluff with a fork and serve hot.
