  • 1 cup active sourdough starter Ensure it's bubbly and active.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Regular table salt.

Method

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Create a well in the center.
  • Add the sourdough starter and warm water into the well. Mix until combined and form a sticky dough.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 4-6 hours or until doubled in size.
  • Once the dough has risen, gently punch it down to deflate.
  • Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Decorate the top with the edible flowers, pressing them gently into the dough.
  • Cover and let it rise for another 1-2 hours.
  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

Baking

  • Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
