Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 250 g macaroni
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp mustard powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste To adjust seasoning

Method

Cooking the Macaroni

  • Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Making the Cheese Sauce

  • In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
  • Once melted, add the flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Gradually stir in the heavy cream and milk until smooth.
  • Mix in the mustard powder and smoked paprika.
  • Remove from heat and add the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until melted.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Combining

  • Fold in the cooked macaroni, mixing until well coated with the cheese sauce.
