- 250 g macaroni
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp mustard powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste To adjust seasoning
Method
Cooking the Macaroni
- Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Making the Cheese Sauce
- In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
- Once melted, add the flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Gradually stir in the heavy cream and milk until smooth.
- Mix in the mustard powder and smoked paprika.
- Remove from heat and add the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until melted.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Combining
- Fold in the cooked macaroni, mixing until well coated with the cheese sauce.
