Ingredients
Cake Layers
- 2 layers layers of vanilla cake Store-bought or homemade
Frosting and Decoration
- 1 batch Buttercream frosting Use for layering and covering the cake
- 1 amount Fondant or chocolate for decorating For basketball design
- as needed pieces Cookies for decoration Use your favorite cookie types
- as needed amount Edible colors for basketball design To create details on the basketball
Method
Preparation
- Bake two layers of vanilla cake and let them cool.
- Slice the tops off the cakes to make them level.
- Stack the layers on top of each other, spreading buttercream frosting in between.
Decoration
- Apply a thin layer of buttercream around the sides and top of the cake for the naked effect.
- Decorate the top of the cake with cookies and use fondant or chocolate to create a basketball design on the cake.
- Use edible colors for details on the basketball.
Serving
- Cut the Naked Basketball Cake into slices and serve on a plate.
- Pair with drinks or ice cream if desired.
