Ingredients

For the Cabbage Wraps

  • 1 small head Cabbage (cut into thick slices) Choose a small head for manageable slices.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (for brushing) Brush both sides of the cabbage slices.

For the Filling

  • 1 pound Ground Beef or Turkey (or ground chicken or plant-based options) Feel free to substitute with your preferred meat.
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 large Egg (optional, for binding) Can be omitted; use breadcrumbs if needed.
  • 1 cup Cheese (for sprinkling on top) Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese.

Method

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Cut the cabbage into thick slices and brush both sides with olive oil. Place them on a baking sheet.

Filling Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and egg (if using). Mix until well combined.

Assembly

  • Take a scoop of the meat mixture and form it into patties. Place one patty on each cabbage slice.
  • Top each burger with a sprinkle of cheese.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and the cabbage is tender.
  • Carefully remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
