  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 2 cups rolled oats Use certified gluten-free oats for gluten-free version.
  • 1/2 cup protein powder Can use flavored protein powders if desired.
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips Optional for additional flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For added flavor.
  • 1 pinch salt To enhance flavors.

Method

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix together the peanut butter and honey (or maple syrup) until well combined.
  • Stir in the rolled oats, protein powder, and a pinch of salt until the mixture is evenly combined.
  • If desired, fold in the dark chocolate chips and vanilla extract.
  • Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper and spread the mixture evenly in the pan.
  • Press down firmly to pack the mixture tightly.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up, then cut into bars.
