- 1 cup peanut butter Natural peanut butter is recommended.
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup Adjust sweetness to taste.
- 2 cups rolled oats Use certified gluten-free oats for gluten-free version.
- 1/2 cup protein powder Can use flavored protein powders if desired.
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips Optional for additional flavor.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For added flavor.
- 1 pinch salt To enhance flavors.
Method
Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix together the peanut butter and honey (or maple syrup) until well combined.
- Stir in the rolled oats, protein powder, and a pinch of salt until the mixture is evenly combined.
- If desired, fold in the dark chocolate chips and vanilla extract.
- Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper and spread the mixture evenly in the pan.
- Press down firmly to pack the mixture tightly.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up, then cut into bars.

Notes
These bars can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about a week. They can also be frozen for longer storage, separated by parchment paper.
