Ingredients
For the crust and filling
- 1 package refrigerated pie crusts Store-bought for convenience
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups cooked pizza toppings (pepperoni, sausage, veggies, etc.) Use your favorite or leftover toppings
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 each egg (for egg wash) Beaten, for brushing the crust
- Italian seasoning (optional) For additional flavor on the crust
Method
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a pie dish.
- Spread the pizza sauce on the bottom of the crust.
- Layer the cooked pizza toppings evenly over the sauce.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover with another pie crust, crimping the edges to seal.
- Brush the top with a beaten egg and sprinkle with Italian seasoning if desired.
- Cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
