Ingredients

For the crust and filling

  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts Store-bought for convenience
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups cooked pizza toppings (pepperoni, sausage, veggies, etc.) Use your favorite or leftover toppings
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 each egg (for egg wash) Beaten, for brushing the crust
  • Italian seasoning (optional) For additional flavor on the crust

Method

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a pie dish.
  • Spread the pizza sauce on the bottom of the crust.
  • Layer the cooked pizza toppings evenly over the sauce.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Cover with another pie crust, crimping the edges to seal.
  • Brush the top with a beaten egg and sprinkle with Italian seasoning if desired.
  • Cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
