Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk Warm but not hot
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 package (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 egg

For the Frosting

  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Add melted butter, egg, and the yeast mixture; stir until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth.
  • Roll the dough into a rectangle and spread with butter, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  • Roll up tightly and cut into rolls.
  • Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake rolls for 20-25 minutes.

Frosting

  • For frosting, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Spread cream cheese frosting over warm rolls before serving.
