  • 1 lb ground beef Can mix with ground pork for enhanced flavor.
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup rice Can use white or brown rice.
  • 1 head green cabbage, chopped
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp paprika

Method

Preparation

  • In a slow cooker, combine the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the diced tomatoes, rice, chopped cabbage, beef broth, paprika, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker. Stir well to mix everything.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • Serve hot, garnished with sour cream if desired.
