  • 2 pounds chicken thighs (bone-in, skinless)
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger

Thickening Agent

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch For thickening the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons water For the cornstarch slurry

Method

Preparation

  • Place the chicken thighs in the slow cooker.
  • In a bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ground ginger. Pour this mixture over the chicken.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is tender.
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken from the slow cooker and set it aside.
  • In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Stir this into the sauce in the slow cooker and cook on high for about 15 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
  • Return the chicken to the slow cooker, coating it in the thickened sauce.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired.

Notes
