- 2 cups sourdough starter
- 1 cup warm water
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Method
Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine the sourdough starter and warm water. Stir in the sugar, then gradually mix in the flour and salt.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for 4-6 hours, or until doubled in size.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a round ball.
- Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let them cool slightly, then carefully cut off the tops and hollow out the inside to create bowls for your soup.

Notes
Make sure your sourdough starter is active and bubbly for the best results. Store the bowls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or freeze them wrapped for up to 3 months.
