Ingredients

Brownie Base

  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cheesecake Layer

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure it's softened to avoid lumps.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Method

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  • In a bowl, mix together the sourdough starter, cocoa powder, flour, sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Layering

  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan.
  • In another bowl, beat the cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth. Spread this mixture over the brownie layer.
  • Pour the remaining brownie batter on top of the cream cheese layer.
  • Swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes
