  • 2 cups cooked rice Any type of cooked rice can be used.
  • 1 lb chicken breasts, diced You can use thighs if preferred.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Low sodium soy sauce can be used.
  • 2 tablespoons honey Adjust for sweetness.
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch For thickening the sauce.
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped For garnish.
  • Sesame seeds for garnish Optional garnish.
  • Optional: vegetables (like bell peppers or broccoli) Customize according to preference.

Method

Preparation

  • In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and cornstarch.
  • In a pan, cook the diced chicken over medium heat until browned and cooked through.
  • Pour the sauce over the chicken and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Serving

  • Serve the sticky chicken over cooked rice and top with green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Add optional vegetables if desired.

Notes

Make sure not to overcook the chicken, or it will become dry. Adjust the sweetness of the sauce by adding more or less honey.
