Ingredients

For the tea

  • 8 cups water
  • 1.5 tablespoons dried mint Alternatively, use fresh mint.
  • 1.5 tablespoons dried hibiscus Or fresh hibiscus petals, adjusted quantity.

For the flavor

  • 1 pound strawberries Hulled and for pureeing.
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey Adjust according to taste.
  • ice For serving.

Method

Preparation

  • Bring the water to a boil in a pot.
  • Place the dried mint and hibiscus in a tea ball.
  • Once the water is boiling, pour it over the tea ball in a large pitcher or tea pot.
  • Steep for 15 minutes.
  • Remove the tea ball and discard its contents.
  • Let the tea cool to room temperature, then chill it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  • After chilling, transfer 1 cup of the tea to a blender.
  • Add the hulled strawberries, lemon juice, and honey to the blender.
  • Puree until smooth, then stir this mixture back into the pitcher of tea.
  • Serve over ice.

Notes
