  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary

Method

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine soy sauce, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, black pepper, and rosemary.
  • Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it.
  • Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 24 hours for best flavor).

Cooking

  • Preheat your grill or broiler to medium-high heat.
  • Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the excess marinade.
  • Grill the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side or until desired doneness is achieved (medium-rare is recommended).
  • Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain.

Serving

  • Serve the flank steak sliced against the grain for the best texture. It pairs wonderfully with grilled vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
  • You can also enjoy it in tacos or fajitas for a delicious twist. Adding a sprinkle of fresh herbs or a squeeze of lime can enhance the flavors even more.
