Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups desiccated coconut (plus extra for rolling)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt

Optional additions

  • 1 cup finely chopped nuts, dried fruits, or candies Optional for extra flavor

Method

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix the sweetened condensed milk, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and desiccated coconut until well combined.
  • If you want to add some, fold in the optional nuts, dried fruits, or candies for a special touch.
  • Cover the mixture and chill it in the fridge for 30-45 minutes. This helps it firm up for easier rolling.

Rolling

  • After chilling, scoop out portions of the mixture and roll them into 1-inch balls with your hands.
  • Once rolled, coat the balls with the extra desiccated coconut to give them a snowy appearance.
  • Chill the snowballs again for 15-20 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve these delightful snowballs on a pretty plate, and watch them disappear! Store in an airtight container in the fridge for about a week, or freeze in a single layer for longer storage. Thaw them in the fridge when ready to enjoy again. Experiment with different add-ins based on your taste—chocolate chips or dried cherries can be lovely additions!
